Join us for the Tuesday, March 14, Small Business Day Near the Bay sponsored by the UC Berkeley /UC San Francisco Supplier Diversity Program Office, in partnership with the Berkeley campus Government and Community Relations Office, the federal Small Business Administration (SBA),the Contra Costa Small Busines Development Center, and local community organizations.
In December 2015, Supply Chain Management (SCM) and the Controller's Office began requiring all on-campus catering orders, both takeout and delivery, be placed through the America To Go (ATG) Punch-out in BearBuy.
As part of this effort, payments for all on-campus catering orders also must be processed through ATG beginning April 7, 2016. The Meeting & Entertainment Payment Request Form (M&E PRF) will no longer be used to pay caterers for on-campus events. Caterers can only be paid for orders after they join ATG.
What is Considered On-Campus Catering?
On-campus catering includes food consumed at any UCSF location in San Francisco for the following event types:
- Staff events
- Employee Moral
- Business meetings
- Programmatic activity
- On-the-job meals
- Technical meetings
The following can be purchased outside of ATG:
- Grocery store purchases (use Procurement-card ONLY)
- Water delivery services
- Moffitt Catering and Mount Zion Café
- Events taking place at a non-UCSF location and/or outside the city of San Francisco are considered off-campus and do not require the use of ATG.

Sixty-seven caterers/restaurants are currently available in the ATG Punch-out. A list of all ATG caterers is available on the SCM ATG web page and on the main ATG Punch-out landing page. Caterers will continue to be added to ATG. Newly added caterers are highlighted in blue text.

Environmental sustainability and mitigating traffic are important components of UCSF being a good neighbor locally and globally. To support these goals as outlined in the University’s Long Range Development Plan, in August, Supply Chain Management (SCM) will begin expanding its “last-mile” package-delivery program to further decrease traffic and congestion in and around campus locations.
The last-mile delivery program, managed by SCM Logistics (formerly Distribution, Storage and Mail (DSM)), currently routes packages from four vendors and the United States Postal Service (USPS) to our Oyster Point location where they are sorted and delivered the “last mile” that same afternoon. Instead of many vendor/courier trucks delivering hundreds of packages each day, Logistics-DSM runs 23 routes, safely and successfully delivering 600 to 700 packages a day with just a few vehicles.
The existing last-mile package-delivery program, which has been in place for five years, includes Fisher Scientific, VWR, OfficeMax, USPS and Give Something Back Office Supplies (added last fall). In August, Logistics-DSM will expand the program to Parnassus locations and add additional vendors as well as FedEx and UPS. Rollout to remaining UCSF locations will take place later in the year.
SCM asks that campus leadership encourage and advocate for usage of the last-mile program to reduce trucks and congestion on the streets at campus locations, resulting in cleaner air and happier neighbors.
