UCSF Greenphire ClinCard Beta Program

The UCSF Greenphire ClinCard Program is a clinical research study participant payment solution featuring reloadable debit cards. UCSF Supply Chain Management (SCM) implemented this beta program to provide a uniform, simple, and secure research study participant payment option. As the program grows and we learn more about the community's needs, new process requirements may be implemented upon the full program's launch. 

ClinCard is a technology solution by Greenphire that automates and tracks incidental travel expense reimbursements and payments to clinical trial research participants in which funds are transferred to the participant via a reloadable Visa™ debit card.  

ClinCards are widely used for participant compensation by research programs at other notable institutions.  

UCSF partnered with Greenphire to provide a campuswide account, and we have negotiated special terms which entail UCSF covering all fees (no program costs for departments). Campus departments will fund participant payments and associated travel expense reimbursements.
