Streamlining the Furniture Vetting Process

One Workplace understands that UCSF users often need to see, feel, touch or experience items they plan to purchase for their projects. OWP has developed several methods that provide our partners the opportunity to evaluate products in-person before committing to larger scale purchases.

One Workplace Demos

 
One Workplace maintains a demo inventory of hundreds of our most commonly ordered items. OWP keeps these items in-stock at our Santa Clara warehouse and delivers them to client locations across the Bay Area for evaluation periods of up to two weeks.

Manufacturer Samples and Demos

 
Most of our manufacturing partners maintain an inventory of demo and sample products that can be delivered to One Workplace or UCSF locations for review and evaluation.

Local Showroom Spaces

 
One Workplace has three local showrooms {Santa Clara, Oakland and San Francisco) that feature hundreds of the latest furniture, architectural and technology products in a real-time workplace setting. Steelcase maintains a "WorkLife" center in San Francisco that features a full range of their product offerings. Many other manufacturers with local presence also maintain showroom spaces. These spaces are available for customer engagements and experiences upon request.

On-Site Demo Programs 


One Workplace and Steelcase have programs in place to provide products for Ergo Labs or internal client demo programs. Custom Mockups 
One Workplace can install fully functional workstation mockups that can be trialed for weeks or months at a time, whether it is a single station or a configuration of stations. These mockups can be custom-ordered to meet e,cact project requirements. OWP can stage these mockups at our facilities to save time, space and money for our customer. Mockups can also be delivered and installed at project sites or other client owned spaces. Mockup products are often available on expedited lead times.

Pricing

Demos & Mockup services provided to UCSF at no cost: 

  • OWP demo program items can be delivered and picked up at no cost.
  • Manufacturer samples or demo items can be delivered and picked up at no cost.
  • Access to OWP and manufacturing partner showroom spaces for product review and experiences
  • Some manufacturers offer long-term mockup product at no cost. Steelcase does not offer this option at no cost.

Pricing terms for additional demos and mockup services available at a cost: 

  • Products for use in ergo labs or internal demo programs are available for purchase at a greatly reduced rate. This rate varies by manufacturer and product line.
  • Custom product mockups are available for purchase at a greatly reduced rate. This rate varies by manufacturer and product line.
  • Costs for this service are only incurred as outlined in an approved quotation, proposal or other official agreement between UCSF and Workplace. UCSF staff will be made aware that time, product or services are billable prior to commencement of work.
