Searching for Diverse Suppliers

As part of the Anchor Institution Mission (AIM), UCSF encourages departments to utilize small, diverse suppliers when buying goods and services. There are two ways to identify these suppliers:

  • Supplier Diversity Section in BearBuy – The Supplier Diversity section can be found on the bottom-left corner of the BearBuy landing page. You will find links to the Supply Chain Management Supplier Diversity and Inclusion Program, Explorer Professional (see below) and the Small and Diverse Supplier List.

The supplier list is accessed through Smartsheet and requires single sign-on through MyAccess (all UCSF staff have viewing rights in Smartsheet) and is comprised of suppliers that have current small-business certification and were recently utilized by a UCSF department. You can use the filter to search by supplier name, goods, service description type or commodity/category type. Once you find a business, you can enter the supplier’s name into your BearBuy requisition.
  • Explorer Professional – This tool allows you to locate certified small and diverse businesses and confirm their diversity status, certifications, products and service offerings, contacts and more. Learn more about Explorer Professional on the University of California Office of the President website or view the Explorer Professional training video. You can log in directly through the UCOP single sign-on
