These three Supplier Diversity Basics Training Modules are designed for Principal Investigators, Research Administrators, Lab Managers, Project Managers, Purchasing Staff and Supervisors.  

Module 1: Policy & Regulatory Requirements addresses the requirements which form the foundation for how the University needs to provide equitable opportunity to small and diverse businesses. It includes references and guidance for the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARS), The Department of Defense (DoD) Federal Acquistion Regulations (DFARS), the EPA Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program, and the Univeristy of California, Business Finance Bulletin, BFB-BUS-43 Materiel Management sections on supplier diversity.

Module 2: Campus Responsibilities articulates the responsiblities of campus Principal Investigators, their project teams, purchasing staff, the Supplier Diversity Program Manager, and the pre-award units: Sponsored Projects Office (SPO) at UC Berkeley and Government & Business Contracts at UC San Francisco.

Module 3: Federal and State Reporting explains the periodic reporting of diverse business utilization for federally funded contracts/subcontracts exceeding $700,000, effective October 1, 2015, with Small Business Subcontracting Plans (SBSPs) and for any EPA cooperative agreement exceeding $150,000, which have fair share goals. Those existing contracts/subcontracts with Small Business Subcontracting Plans which exceeded the previous $650,000 threshold will continue to require reporting.
