Celebrating National Black Business Month

In August 2004, historian John William Templeton and engineer Frederick E. Jordan Sr. brought attention to the needs of more than two million black-owned businesses that operate across our nation by founding National Black Business Month.

To celebrate the month, on August 31 at 10 a.m., UCSF's Anchor Institution Mission (AIM) and the State of California Department of General Services Procurement Division, Office of Small Business and Disabled Veteran Enterprise Services will host a supplier diversity webinar featuring tips on small business certification.

If you are interested in learning more about our supplier diversity and inclusion program, AIM's procurement work, or want to support your suppliers, please attend. We also encourage you to share this information (flyer) with your suppliers. You and your suppliers can register here.

If you would like support in your effort to include diverse, small, and local business in your purchasing or want to join the Anchors Away Team, please contact Marliz Copado.
