Procurement Efforts Toward Anti-Racism

The UCSF Anchor Institution Initiative is working with the Office of Diversity and Outreach (ODO) to share insights and engage in anti-racism efforts. This includes collaborating with local partners and Historically Black Colleges and Universities to find ways to further impact the goal of creating a more diverse, equitable and inclusive UCSF community. By diversifying our supply chain, UCSF will see more opportunities to include small, local and diverse businesses in our spend.

This work will be strengthened by information gathered to develop an anti-racism enterprise framework and operational plan. The Anchor Institution Initiative team looks forward to contributing to the innovative process of embracing diversity, equity and inclusion in our strategies.

On a related note, Chancellor Sam Hawgood noted our efforts at the Chancellor’s Leadership Forum on Diversity and Inclusion 2022 last month. He highlighted work related with cabinet members to review diverse spend and analyze opportunities with their financial managers. Watch the event here.
