Travel Town Halls with Suppliers

The UC Central Travel Office has organized a Supplier Town Hall series to begin July 20. This is an opportunity to engage with major travel suppliers and learn more about their operations. This year, Amtrak joins the lineup, along with all major airlines, hotels and car rental companies with whom we have an existing contract.
 
There will be several giveaways (presence required when winner is announced) and below is the schedule. The Central Travel Office website will be updated with presentation content and giveaways, once confirmed by suppliers:

• July 20 – Club Quarters Hotels
• July 27 – United Airlines
• August 17 – Southwest Airlines
• August 24 – Delta Airlines
• August 31 – Amtrak
• September 14 – Marriott Hotels
• September 21 – JetBlue Airways
• September 28 – Hertz Car Rentals
• October 5 – Alaska Airlines
• October 12 – Enterprise/National Car Rentals
• October 19 – American Airlines

Projected Increase in Travel

The Central Travel Office has noted a rise in travel over recent months and a projected increase could reach critical mass over the summer. Factors leading to this, include:

• Steady return of business travel (especially conferences) which is also leading to more blended business and leisure trips;
• Desire of travelers to get back on the road, leading to an increase in domestic and international travel, plus the traditional road trips to National Parks
