Connecting with Our Stakeholders

In Supply Chain Management’s (SCM) continuing effort to improve your customer experience, in May 2022, we conducted interviews with more than 20 UCSF staff members. Led by Research Commodity Manager Dean Shehu with assistance from Customer Experience Specialist Heather McCormick, a cross-section of purchasers in labs and departments, and at all levels of purchasing authority, offered their sentiments on our requisition process.

Key findings included comments on timeliness, notifications and updates, the approval process and requisitions requiring additional work to proceed. Our purchasing partners were exceptionally helpful in this effort, and we came away with a lot of information to help us evaluate our service.

“I want to thank all of our participants. I learned a lot about your expectations and experiences, and how our SCM processes look from your perspective,” said Shehu. “We rely on a strong partnership with our purchasers, your voice informs our priorities. We are invested in continuous improvement across SCM, so expect outreach and requests for participation in future projects. We cannot move our organization forward without you.”
