May is National Small Business Month

Governor Gavin Newsom issued a proclamation declaring May 2024, as “Small Business Month” in the State of California. California's more than 4.1 million small businesses – the most of any state – embody the entrepreneurial spirit that drives the economy of the Golden State. Read about the proclamation.

UCSF celebrates Small Business Month and will be hosting a Supplier Diversity Outreach webinar on Wednesday, May 22 from noon to 1 p.m. We will engage our current supply base as well as connect with new suppliers. Register for the webinar here and share with any businesses that may be interested in connecting with our Supplier Diversity and Inclusion Program (SDIP) and Anchor Institution Mission Procurement.

UCSF Anchor Team Conducts Outreach in Oakland

Our Anchor Procurement Team attended the Oakland Multicultural Chamber Annual Mixer to demonstrate our support for the Oakland community. The mixer is sponsored by UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland and brings together Oakland’s five Chambers of Commerce with members of the city’s business community, small and diverse businesses, key community stakeholders, and community organizations. We enjoyed the event and are looking forward to further connecting with the small, diverse, and local business community again at our upcoming webinar.
